What Is Reiki
Reiki is a gentle Japanese well-being practice that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance. During a session, universal life energy is made available to someone who may be experiencing physical, emotional, or energetic discomfort, helping them feel better and supporting their healing process.
Our bodies naturally know how to heal and regulate themselves. However, stress, emotional strain, and physical toxins can drain our energy and make this process more difficult. A Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for universal life energy, allowing the person’s body to receive the energy it needs to begin or continue its own self-healing.
In Reiki, the practitioner does not “heal” the person. The healing comes from the individual’s own system — Reiki simply provides additional energy and support to help the body return to balance.
A Reiki practitioner does not have special powers. Anyone can learn to become a channel for this energy through proper initiation and training, transmitting it through their hands in a calm, respectful, and supportive way.
During a session, you remain fully clothed and lie comfortably while intentional hand placements allow the energy to flow. Many people experience deep relaxation, warmth, subtle sensations, or a sense of inner peace. Each person’s experience is unique, as Reiki meets you where you are.
A session lasts 1 hour. To allow the body and energy system to integrate, an initial series of four sessions on four consecutive days is recommended. This creates a supportive foundation, after which sessions can be spaced according to your needs.
Reiki can be beneficial during times of stress, overwhelm, fatigue or when you simply feel the need to reconnect, reset, and nurture yourself.
